Program Representative
Contract Part-time – Two weekends in November 2012
Locations: participating retail locations across Saskatchewan

Summerhill is dedicated to developing, implementing and managing public engagement and market
transformation programs that lead to measurable improvements in energy savings.
Currently we are seeking outgoing, energetic and dynamic individuals to join our team as a program
representative for the provincial Saskatchewan Block Heater Timer Giveaway. The Block Heater Timer
Giveaway will take place at retail locations across the province of Saskatchewan. The project will include
the giveaway of block heater timers pre-programmed to turn on only for four hours during the night.
The objective of the project is to increase awareness of the impact engine block heaters have on the grid
and to give customers the tools and knowledge needed to reduce the amount of electricity these
products are drawing.
Key responsibilities will include the set up and facilitation of the event at a specific retail location, while
providing excellent customer service and education around energy conservation.

SASKATCHEWAN BLOCK HEATER TIMER GIVEAWAY SCHEDULE
EVENT LOCATIONS: Home Hardware, Sears, Co-op and Peavey Mart
EVENT WEEKENDS: November 17&18 and November 24&25, 2012
EVENT HOURS: Approximately 9:30am – 5:30pm Saturdays and Sundays, hours may vary depending on
the location

EVENT TRAINING
Saskatoon - November 13, 2012, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm
OR
Saskatoon - November 14, 2012, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm
OR
Regina - November 15, 2012, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm
OR
Regina - November 16, 2012, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm

Job Responsibilities:
• Set-up of display area – table, table skirt, program signage, pallet of block heater timers
• Proactively greet and engage store customers in discussions about the program while providing
demonstrations
• Distribute block heater timers• Provide education regarding energy use and conservation – training to be provided
• Tear-down event
• Complete administrative paperwork for payroll and daily/weekend reports as required including
numbers distributed, customers engaged and quality of engagement.
• Assist in managing large crowds of program participants
• Attend all 4 shifts as assigned to them, as well as complete training to a satisfactory level
Qualifications/Job Requirements:
• Outgoing personality – must be able to proactively approach consumers and engage them in
environmental issues
• Positive personality – must have exceptional customer service and encourage/educate
participants to continue to make positive changes after the campaign, on a day to day basis
• Be interested in, and genuinely concerned about energy conservation and/or other
environmental issues
• Currently enrolled in, or completed post-secondary education or have promotional experience
• Detail-oriented, punctual, conscientious, a team player
• A friendly and professional manner and appearance
• Committed to providing exceptional customer service and be able to multi-task accordingly
• Ability to recognize significant or sensitive issues and when to escalate to the Team Lead or
Program Manager
• Must set up, assemble and move displays and other program materials
• Must have working knowledge and access to a computer with internet and MS office
applications including Word and Excel
• Submit a photo of yourself at your event area with your timesheet after the event

Type of Employment: Part-time, Short-term, Contract – Future contracts may be available
Salary Wage: $15/hour
Location: Various retail locations across Saskatchewan
