Our client, a leader in the telecom industry is looking for a Director of Sales to lead and execute sales of products and services to wireless and wireline service providers; primary focus on Tier 2/3, Rural and CLEC providers within the western USA territory. This is a virtual office position; travel is required within the region.
 
Key responsibilities:
·Responsible for developing new business/accounts and supporting existing customers with sales of current and new products and services
·Ownership of the territory; responsible for developing winning account strategies and related tactical
account and implementation plans
·Provide constructive and meaningful intelligence on the competition, customer requirements, market trends and product features to the appropriate organization(s)
·Manage and direct cross-functional activities and supporting team members involved in the sales cycle, such as pre-sales, services, customer support and finance
·Analyze requirements, anticipated customer demands and competitive landscape to promote the
consideration, evaluation and sale of products and services
·Work closely with Product Line Management to understand and articulate new features, products and other information of interest to customers
·Provide accurate and timely sales forecasts to management
·Responsible for customer satisfaction through the entire sales cycle -- from marketing, sales, delivery, installation and commissioning, through invoicing and collection
·Use the tools available, such as Salesforce, PCN, etc.to provide business information in support of sales and business development activities
·Conduct sales presentations and participate in industry trade shows
·Maintain up-to-date and accurate sales records
 
Requirements:
·Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Science or similar technical fields
·At least 10-years of successful sales experience in the telecommunications industry, selling to wireless and wireline service providers
·Microwave and/or Millimeter wave experience and industry contacts an advantage
·Understanding of how service providers work and how to sell value-based, technical solutions into
complex customer environments
·Position requires a hands-on, take-charge approach, analytical and problem-solving skills and the
ability to prioritize multiple tasks in an efficient and effective manner
·Proactive, service-oriented approach with a “can-do” attitude; in-tune with customer needs and
competitive overtures
·Marketing Savvy: Ability and experience creating messaging and awareness as part of the sales
process to promote and distinguish the company, its products and services, value-add, etc.
·Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate both internally
and externally with customers
·Advanced Excel modeling skills; competency in Word and PowerPoint
·Willing and able to travel within the territory.
